New Beginnings

The move is almost complete, and today we reopen in the new location. The natural light is superb, there are thre enormous windows and we have glass doors. of cotrse the yarn is very lush, and despite slower than previously, deliveries are still happening, so we have very full ranges of all our brands. better yet, Tweedy Noir is on its way .... and we can't wait!

It's beyond frustrating to me that I can't insert photos I've taken on my iPad or phone. All that are available to me are random things I've collected over time. Maybe if I added new photos into Flickr they would also appear as options. My computer doesn't read photos from my phone or iPad either, but in that case the age if the operating system is the contributing factor.

Ah life, so full of first world problems.......

Show knitting

It's that time of year. Stay tuned for photos = and in another puzzling development Blogger can only find phone photos from 2015, and the computer does not recognise my phone is plugged into it. *sigh*

New Year, what will it bring?

This is what all 2014 / 2015 was about, Mopra the telescope, named for Mopra the mountain. Was it worth all the time and hard work invested in it, only time will tell. For now it's onward to great things and we'll see where it all leads.

Fun and games

Just a few shots, having fun, yes that chicken didn't like having her photo taken!

So I visited Mopra, the radio telescope I helped fund on the long weekend. It was pretty special as I (as well as the astronomers with me) had never seen it in reality before. Only Balt had been there because he is the telescope whisperer! Anyway we were able to clamber over surfaces, up and down ladders and get into all the rooms, with supervision and wearing our hard hats. Quite the privilege.

Coonabarabran is a great town, coming alive for Starfest every year and the locals were very friendly too. We stayed at the Oxley Caravan Park and our delux cabin was perfect, two bedrooms and living area, chairs and table on a verandah, air con, nice bathroom. Could stay there again happily.

I drove up with Catherine and when we remembered we looked for planets, we saw Jupiter and on the way home Uranus and Pluto (which is helpfully signposted NOT A PLANET).

Knitting / Stuff

Today I'm at work!
for a while I did not think this would be something I would say again, I was both feeling very low and very sick. However time, given enough of it, cured what ailed me.

I love working in a yarn shop, love seeing all the possibilities and stories that are represented by the skeins and balls, sitting in their pigeon holes, waiting for someone to love them and turn them into wonderful. I am currently knitting a spiral beanie in grey/black/brown Zauberball starke, and its looking fantastic. almost done and then another something to sell in the shop, potential realised!

Ah life, what more do you have stored up for me? time will tell, but I know it will be wonderful.
