Victory for the spinners!
Photo borrowed from my DD Catherine. Lizzie, the other DD, won a Highly Commended with her brown through to cream shawl and I won a third (OMG) at the Sydney Royal. Handspun bulky (5ply to 8ply yarn weight).Pretty exciting with of course EGMTK fibre club merino, and a twirly scarf pattern from Unravelled (Taphophile).

Hairy legs
This is a much more effective photo. The second sock of the pair was completed this morning (still woke at the normal time despite daylight saving and telling myself I could sleep in). Sock roulette for me was a big success. A new pattern, a new yarn, and a return to top down knitting, which was a first in a long time also. Anne did a fabulous job on my sock, and I had a good time with the second, which despite the photo is the same size, my tension is a little off, slightly tighter than the first sock, but a good wash should fix that. All in all a great experience, thanks Julie for organising the swap.
Rat Roulette
Okay, the rat has stuffed his big bum into one sock and claimed the other for a nest. But hey they are ready for wearing.Friday, April 03, 2009
Blondie
Yes this is the fabulous David. The new hair colour makes him look very much like his cousin Joshua when he moves or talks. It's always funny to see a change in hair colour/cut bringing out the family similarities in cousins.Don't tell grams, hopefully I can drag him along to Steve's for little Mark's birthday party and surprise them all with my handsome youngest son. (yep the eyebrows are a bit of a shock)
entrelac
So I have finally finished enough projects to allow myself to being a new one. From my lovely pal in the Scarf Exchange7 I received a ball of very soft alpaca in "spring" colours, which of course are some of my favourite colours too. After some swatching, I think Entrelac is the way to go, so I present the first wrist warmer, 32 sts, size 4.5mm needles for softness. The short colour changes looked truly awful in rib, and really plain stocking stitch would just look spotty. We shall see when finished, but the tiny squares of entrelac should look pretty good with the quick colour changes.
